Brighten your winter with the taste of sunshine! We’re thrilled to introduce our brand-new Winter Citrus Share, designed to bring the best-of-season citrus straight to your kitchen. Enjoy specialty varieties of juicy oranges, sweet mandarins, succulent grapefruits and more, to add a zing and a zest to your winter menu.
Your weekly Winter Citrus Share will be packed in a third-bushel box (same sized box as our Small Vegetable Share), weighing approximately 10 lbs. Here's an example of what one week's share may contain: 3 white grapefruits, 3 sumo oranges, 4 cara cara navels, 6 mandarins, 2 blood oranges**, 6 kumquats, 2 meyer lemons.
To source your citrus we're working closely with Specialty Foods Boston, from whom we've been sourcing citrus for many years at our farmstores. Specialty is known as the premier produce distributor for Boston's top chefs, and they will be sourcing your citrus exclusively from orchards in California whom they know and trust.
We are offering this as a four-week trial run this winter... If all goes well, we'll look at offering it next winter for all 12 weeks of our winter share season.
