Siena Farms' Field Crew is the heartbeat of our daily operations. From the first seeding in the greenhouse, to the last box loaded for a Boston restaurant delivery, our crew touches every part of the journey from soil to table. We are looking for hardworking, committed people who want to build real farming skills, work alongside a team that has each other's backs, and help grow food which our community depends on.
What You'll Do
Crop Production
- Get hands-on experience across mushroom, cut-flower, and 40-ish acres of vegetable production
- Plant crops, from greenhouse propagation to mechanical transplanting in the field
- Trellis, prune, fence, and cultivate crops
Harvest and Post-Harvest
- Hand-harvest our 150+ varieties of vegetables, fresh herbs, mushrooms, and flowers
- Wash, pack, and transport produce so it arrives to our customers with the highest possible quality standards.
CSA, Wholesale, and Retail
- Pack and prepare weekly Farm Shares for our CSA members
- Prepare orders for restaurant deliveries and for our retail farmstores in Boston.

You'll thrive here if you have:
- A genuine interest in sustainable agriculture and local food systems
- The physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout the day
- Ability to work in inclement weather, including rain and temperature extremes
- Experience successfully working in a team environment
- Bonus points for previous farming experience* and/or Spanish language proficiency

Schedule
This role runs through the end of November, and there are two ways to join us:
- Part time: a minimum of 3 days a week, including Sunday. Monday through Wednesday are preferred for your other days.
- Full time: Sunday through Thursday, with Friday and Saturday off.
Both schedules run from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with one paid hour for lunch.
If you dig in and do great work, there are often opportunities to grow into year-round, full-time roles here on the farm.
Compensation and Perks
Pay is $18 to $20 per hour, plus overtime opportunities. Paid time off is included. Perks include a weekly veggie farm share to take home, additional access to surplus produce, and employee discounts at Siena Farms' retail locations and at our family restaurants, Oleana and Sofra.
