Seasonal Field Crew
Overview
Siena Farms’ Seasonal Field Crew is a full-time, seasonal position with a flexible start-date in late Spring 2026, and a set end-date of November 24, 2026 (Thanksgiving week). Field Crew members are hard-working, committed, passionate individuals who participate in many daily farm operations, including production, harvest, and post-harvest handling. We expect our Field Crew members to approach tasks thoughtfully, embracing a team effort to achieve the farms’ goals for quality and efficient work, along with their own goals of developing their farming career through professional work experience. Our Field Crew members are integral to daily operations and ultimately to the success of Siena Farms as a business and as a member of the community.
Primary responsibilities for Seasonal Field Crew members will include but are not limited to the following.
Harvest & Post-Harvest
- Daily harvest of our 150+ varieties of vegetables, fresh herbs, mushrooms and flowers
- Post-harvest handling, including washing, curing, packing, and transporting produce
- Preparation and packing of CSA Farm Shares
- Preparation and packing of orders for restaurant deliveries and our retail stores in Boston
Crop Production
- Planting, including greenhouse propagation and mechanical transplanting in the fields
- Cultivation/weed-control by hand and hoe
- Field work such as trellising, pruning, fencing & thinning
- Involvement in mushroom, cut-flower, and large scale veggie production

Qualifications
- One season of previous hands-on farming experience
- Career interest in sustainable agriculture and local food systems
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly
- Spanish language proficiency is highly preferred but not required for the right candidate
Schedule
Our Seasonal Field Crew position is considered a full-time, seasonal position, averaging 50 hours/week spread over 5 days. The core schedule includes 5 days a week from 7am – 5pm, with one paid hour of lunch break for all farm staff on any given work day. Our Seasonal Field Crew is expected to work Sunday through Thursday during our peak growing season, June through November, with a “Friday/Saturday” weekend.
Compensation
- Pay range is $16 - $20/hr, with overtime paid at time and a half for any hours over 40 in a single work-week (for Field Crew, this will be 10 hours per week of overtime pay).
